CONDITIONS
1. Characteristics
This grant will be awarded to the best new creation project.
2. Value of the grants
The Incubadora Grant is endowed with a total sum of 12,000 €, which
will be paid in two equal parts: the first half on announcing the grant-winning
project(s), and the second upon delivery of the finished work and after the
Panel of Judges has examined the quality. These monies are to be used, in
full, for the production and realization of the prize-winning project(s).
Prizewinners will be introduced to the cultural agents deemed as most appropriate
for the distribution and circulation of the resulting product.
3. Candidates
All artists that present an individual or collective proposal in accordance
with these conditions will be entitled to apply for these grants. Whether
it is an individual or collective project, only one proposal can be presented,
and it must be guaranteed that it is an original, new project. Projects
must be susceptible to being supervised from Olot and to developing the
final part of the process in this town or to carrying out the presentation
of the result in this town.
4. Documentation
Candidates must send Panorama-Incubadora (INSTITUT DE CULTURA DE LA CIUTAT
D’OLOT, Teatre Principal d’Olot, Passeig d’en Blay nª5,
Olot 17800) the following documentation:
a) Personal details, curriculum of the applicant and description of the project
(10 lines).
b) Technical project, in which the candidate must state the aims, theoretical
and technical approach, schedule, approximate realization cost and financing
plan.
c) All additional documentation that candidates may consider suitable to
facilitate the evaluation of the project, such as a graphic dossier of recent
works, reviews, bibliography, etc.
Candidates must submit two copies of the project, one to be exhibited during Panorama 2007 and the other for the selection committee.
5. Documentation submission deadline
Candidates must submit their documentation by 16 May 2007 at the aforementioned
address.
6. Project selection
Project selection and evaluation will be carried out by a committee specifically
formed for the occasion. This committee will be allowed to ask for additional
information, as well as to call the candidates to check their aptitude
to carry out the proposed work and to suggest any extension or modification
to the project to make it more operative. It can also, if considered appropriate,
ask other people for advice about the interest and scope of the project.
The verdict of the panel of judges will be final and it will be made public
during the festival (31 May-3 June 2007). Award winners must commit themselves
to come to Olot to collect the prize, either personally or by means of an
authorized person. The panel of judges may declare the prize void.
7. Assessment criteria
The selection committee will particularly value the following aspects:
_interest of the project presented
_feasibility of the project
_its innovation capacity and its interdisciplinary character
_the reflection or work that it may propose concerning the landscape,
understood as a vital and/or artistic environment
Once the grant is awarded, the PNRM team will monitor and supervise the project. The PNRM team will have the authority to make all the necessary considerations, and even to stop the project if it is deemed appropriate to do so.
8. Lapse of the right to the grant
The right to the grant will lapse in the following situations:
a) If work is not carried out continually within the agreed period, or if
reports about its progress are not satisfactory.
b) If the grant holder fails to observe any of the obligations taken on.
Early lapse of the grant will imply the cancellation of subsequent outstanding
payments. If the grant holder was deemed responsible for this breach, he
or she may be asked to repay the amounts already received.
9. Delivery of the work
The length of the grant period will be one year from the date of the award.
The schedule determined by the officer nominated to carry out the follow-up
must be adhered to at all times. The resulting product, whatever type it
is, will be presented during the next PANORAMA festival.
10. Ownership and dissemination of the work
The award-winning work will be showed or presented in one of the exhibition
spaces of the Institut de Cultura de la Ciutat d'Olot during Panorama 2007
and, if considered appropriate, it will be proposed for exhibiting in other
spaces. Once shown in Olot and in the places the organization of Panorama
may deem appropriate, the award-winning work will remain the property of
the author and he or she will be allowed to freely dispose of it to show
and present it, provided it is stated that it was awarded the 2007 Incubadora
Grant.
Projects not awarded the grant can be collected at the Grant Secretary's
Office during a period of three months from the day the verdict is given.
Once this period has elapsed, any work not collected, either personally or
by means of an authorized person, will be destroyed.
11. Incompatibilities
Being awarded the grant does not condition the fact that the award winner
may benefit from other economic aids, provided that they do not exceed
100% of the grant value.
12. Acceptance of these conditions
Participation in this competition implies the acceptance of its conditions
and of the verdict of the Panel of Judges, as well as of any changes that,
as a result of factors beyond the organization's control, may take place
subsequently.
